Bird SVG Files Now Available
After struggling to find the "perfect" bird outlines (bird SVGs) to use with my Cricut machine, I decided to create some for myself. The goal was to be able to quill the birds that I photograph but not have to draw them out freehand each time. My solution was to rifle through the 50,000 bird photos I've taken over the past couple of years and start creating SVGs of my favorites.
I have completed three so far - a Blue Jay, a Titmouse, and a Baltimore Oriole. The great thing about bird silhouettes is that many birds have similar shapes - so while it might be labeled as a Titmouse, it also could pass as a small flycatcher or other rounded, crested bird. The Baltimore Oriole could also be used to create a grackle or other long-beaked, slender bird. The Blue Jay could pass for one of the larger flycatchers like the Great Crested Flycatcher.
Each of the bird SVGs I have created are based on an actual photograph that I took. They have accurate proportions and include an eye-marker that can either be cut out or "written" onto the cut silhouette. This helps keeps it looking more realistic.
I hope you enjoy my bird SVGs. Check back later as I hope to add at least ten or fifteen more. If you'd like a specific bird SVG, please feel free to contact me.
