The question I keep getting asked about the quilled scrollwork fox is “How big is it?”. The answer to that question is 4×6. I actually should have made him a tiny bit smaller to give more white space on the edges, as right now he fits all the way to the edge of the mat.
There was nothing special about his construction. Just the scrollwork. I think it’s funny how such a simple base pattern can look nice on so many animals. I’m going to be using this same technique for a Valentine’s Day line, too.
Would any of you like to see a tutorial on how I make the multi-strip coils? I actually have two methods. One with glue and a quick and dirty method that doesn’t use glue. Comment if you want a tutorial and if I get enough responses, I’ll work on one over the holidays.
I now have a 10-page tutorial available for my original scrollwork fox. Buy it on my Etsy shop here.
