Quilled Letter K Monogram
Green and Yellow Swirl
Oh the special K with all those angles and long arms and legs. This green and yellow swirled quilled letter k monogram was quite simple to make. It sits on an 8×10 sheet of 140lb white watercolor paper with 3/4″ white space at the margins. As usual, the most difficult part was the outline. The font I used was Baskerville Old Face. The outline was made using a hunter green. The interior was made using three shades of green and three shades of yellow in various combinations. The interior quills are made with the multi-strip spiral technique that I’ll one day make a video tutorial for.
I’ve only done one other green monogram and I definitely like the way these colors look together. I think it looks fresh and bright and full of life. Then again, it’s winter in Maine and I’m desperate for some chlorophyll right about now!
