Quilled Letter L Monogram
Quilled Letter L Monogram – Fall Stripes
This quilled letter L monogram incorporates fall colors and mimicry of the vertical lines of the letter itself. I will be the first to admit that the vertical strips of paper didn’t come out as nice as they could have. When I began this project, I had no idea how to make the paper stay in place and evenly spaced, so I used glue and Modge Podge to help stiffen them. The end result was some dulling of the paper and glue bubbles that dried on. However, for every project that I struggle with, I discover new techniques to help me in the future. In this case, by the time the second evening had rolled around, I had figured out the key to keeping these little buggers spaced evenly and where I wanted them without glue or Modge Podge! It was a learning experience, but not entirely a bust. With this behind a piece of glass, the wavy lines and glue bubbles will be difficult to notice. Aside from the vertical bars, I really loved the way the open, lace-work came out. Sometimes leaving blank spaces can help improve a design.
