Viking Themed Quilled Letter A Monogram
I promised to start posting some of my manly monograms, so here is the Viking themed quilled letter A monogram for you.
This was probably the fastest and easiest monogram I’ve ever made. I started it late this evening and just finished. I didn’t work steady on it, just dubbed around while watching a marathon session of “Fringe” with my husband.
I made this monogram for one of my dearest and oldest friends, Aaron. He has been in my life longer than any other friend and has never wavered in his devotion. Aaron has bonafide Viking blood running through his veins. He is a giant with reddish blonde hair and he’s a real “warrior” when it comes to being there for those he loves.
So when I first tried to conjure up some ideas for his monogram, this is the very first thing I thought of and it was pretty much my only direction from concept till the end.
With the exception of the beard and the rivets, the entire piece was done using the boucle technique. I used metallic paper for the helm and the outline of the A. It was a fun, quick project and the results are quite cute (but I’m not very objective when it comes to my own work! haha)
