White Daisies Quilled Letter M Monogram
The daisies are very popular! By why wouldn’t they be? They ares so fresh and bright looking. It seems like they make any monogram more beautiful because of their presence. And the nice thing about the daisy design is that you can make them in almost any color and they’ll always remind you of a real flower!
I made this white daisies quilled letter M monogram pretty much the same way as I did the pink daisies letter K monogram from last week. There are a few differences, however, and I’ll give you the basics of them below.
All of the paper used is from Quilled Creations and I’m pretty sure their solid quilling paper comes in 17″ lengths.
The body of the monogram was made with 1/4″ black strips using a boucle technique. I have a video that show how to do this.
The daisies were made using 1/2 length strips of 1/4″ white strips. They are just pinched into a simple straight teardrop shape. Each daisy has six petals and they are all attached at their points. The daisy buds were made using 1/4 lengths of 1/4″ white strips. Just like their larger counterparts, they are a simple straight tear drop shape.
The yellow centers were made using two strips of the 1/8″ yellow strips which were shaped into a tight coil then placed in the Quilled Creations Mini Mold size D to create a cup shape.
The green bud bases were made using 1 strip each of green 1/8″ paper, shaped into a tight coil then placed in the Mini Mold size C to create a cup shape. I ran out of Quilled Creations leaf green paper, and had to rummage through my stash to find some I’d bought from another company over a year ago and forgotten about. I was quite pleasantly surprised to discover that it was GILDED! Now that I have seen the magic of the gilded paper for small accents like the delicate stems and leaves, I will be buying more.
The leaves were each made using one 1/8″ green strip using a combing technique with the Quilled Creations Quilling Comb.
The stems were made with gilded green 1/8″ strips that I suspended from the top of the leaves to the center of the bud bases, and along the background paper for the stems going to the large daisies. The fill for the letter was made with the 1/4″ black strips using the boucle technique.
